The Faculty of Dentistry's participation in the Community Match Unit (Stop Drugs)

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, witnessed today the launch of the Community Initiatives Unit, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote the concept of community leadership, under the supervision of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, and in the presence of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, and Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud, Vice President of the University for the Education and Students Sector Dr. Enas Yahya, Vice President of Beni Suef National University for International Relations; Dr. Rabih Rateeb, former Vice President for Community Service; Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, former Vice Dean of the Community Service Sector at the Faculty of Arts; Dr. Samia Farid, Director of the Community Initiatives Unit; Dr. Ahmed Farouk, Deputy Director of the Community Initiatives Unit; a number of deans of faculties; faculty members; representatives of Al-Azhar, the Egyptian Church, the Military Education Administration, and the Youth Welfare Department; and a distinguished organization by the Students for Egypt family, amidst a remarkable student attendance Dr. Tariq Ali explained that launching the Community Initiatives Unit is a strategic step aimed at strengthening the university's role in serving the community and developing the environment, and activating national initiatives within the university campus. It also represents a qualitative leap in the university's path towards positive interaction with the local community, as it aims to launch innovative initiatives that align with the needs of students and faculty members, and support the implementation of presidential initiatives through coordination with relevant authorities
In addition to enhancing the efficiency of institutional performance and establishing a culture of initiative and leadership among university youth, in line with Egypt’s 2030 vision for building the Egyptian human being and developing his capabilities, he added that the unit seeks to be a central platform for coordinating and implementing initiatives that enhance community awareness and support sustainable development efforts
Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawjoud indicated that the second session of the launch activities will witness the launch of the "Our University Without Drugs" initiative. The initiative includes a number of lectures, including a lecture entitled "Monitoring the Effects of Addiction on Society" on drugs in Beni Suef Governorate, which will be lectured by Mr/ Alaa Shehata, Director of the Drug Control Unit Fund, and a lecture entitled "The Psychological Effects of Addiction and Methods of Prevention" by Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of  Medicine, and a lecture entitled "Prevention of Addiction from a Religious Perspective." The initiative also includes a field tour on the university campus to raise awareness among students
Dr. Ahmed Farouk emphasized that involving university students in designing and implementing these initiatives contributes to instilling values ??of belonging and social responsibility in students, and gives them the opportunity to be active partners in building the future of their country, which enhances their awareness of their national role and contributes to developing their leadership skills, strengthening the spirit of responsibility and belonging, and qualifies them to be leaders in their community
